Celebrate Freedom in Lawrence, Kansas

Juneteenth is the federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people in America. Join us for a weekend full of events to celebrate Juneteenth, Lawrence's black community, and commemorate the struggle for freedom in Lawrence and Douglas County.

The Lawrence Juneteenth Celebration is back and better than ever, Saturday, June 15! Activities include historic tours, children's fun, live music, vendors, food, and the first-ever Lawrence Juneteenth Celebration Parade.

The festivities kick off with the Lawrence Juneteenth Parade at 11:00 AM.    Juneteenth Celebration June 15 2024
