The 28th annual Civil War on the Border series will occur August 18 through 20 in Lawrence. This year’s theme is food insecurity, past and present. Featured events will include bus and walking tours of local Civil War sites, in-person and online talks with historians, and a free screening of the new documentary I’m So Glad: Kansas City and The Roots of Black Gospel Music.
